What is CHFM?
Central Homeschool Family Ministries offers quality, Christian-based, educational co-op classes, enrichment activities and resources to 1st-12th grade students and their families. (Above statement is from website home page) It began in 1998 and is a Ministry of Central Christian Church.
Leadership Team
We have a leadership team of directors, and our instructors are paid for their teaching. (Most of our instructors are current or former CHFM parents/students.)
Where are classes held?
Central Christian Church at 2900 N. Rock Rd in Wichita, KS.
When are elementary classes held?
Most Elementary Classes run for 12 week semesters in fall & spring on Monday afternoons.
Our goal is to provide enrichment classes for students that will encourage learning, foster friendship, and promote teamwork. These classes are supplemental to what students are learning at home.
When are Middle and High School Academic Core Classes held?
Our Academic Core classes for Middle and High School usually run for 16-week semesters in fall & spring. Classes usually meet twice a week on Monday & Wednesdays, although some classes meet only on Mondays. Most of them take place in the morning with some in the early afternoon. Most of our enrichment classes follow the 12 week semester schedule. Please check our classes page for specific information
Our goal for middle and high school is to provide academically challenging classes, assignments, and projects for teens that will meet requirements for high school credit.

Do you require parents to serve during classes?
Yes! We require one parent to serve every other week during the time your children are in class. We also have parents serve on a ministry team that includes projects that occur only once or twice a year. Click here for more details
What is your dress & behavior code?
Click here to learn about our dress and behavior code.
How do you communicate with your members?
We have a weekly email newsletter (during the 12 week session) and we also have a private CHFM Facebook Group which can be joined after registration. Current and past members are able to post. We also occasionally alert families of major events via text message.
How do I join?
We first encourage you to read through the website, including our Statement of Faith, Service Requirements, and Dress Code. After that, please visit our “Prospective Member” page and fill out an application. You will hear back from a New Member Director within a week and you will be able to schedule a time to join us for a consultation meeting where we share more about CHFM, and you can ask questions and see if it is a good fit for your family. After your consultation, the director will be in touch with you about getting you set up for family registration and class enrollment!
We also require one of the parents to attend a mandatory New Member meeting at the beginning of the semester.
When is the deadline to apply?
The deadline for submitting an application is the beginning of July for the Fall Semester, and early December for the Spring Semester. Please click here for the exact date.
When does Registration/Enrollment take place?
For families that have already gone through the consultation process, registration for the Fall Semester is in mid-July and registration for the Spring Semester is the beginning of December. It all takes place online and families that have been through the process will be sent emails as to when to register and enroll.
What is the cost of classes and membership?
We have a membership fee of $100 per semester/per family which covers building use and other administrative costs.
Each class has its own tuition and supply fee based upon the level, involvement, and frequency of the class. This is paid to the instructor, minus administrative costs. Click on the class name under Classes to find out the cost for each.
Classes are registered and paid for by semester. If the class is a year-long class, you enroll and pay each semester. Most year-long classes cannot be joined mid-year.
We are not able to offer refunds after registration – unless CHFM cancels class due to low enrollment.
